Sarah McDonald, from the local Narellan Gymnastics Centre, entered in the first of 2 state trials for Level 5 gymnastics, held at Epping Sports Centre on Sunday the 14th September 2008.
Clubs from all over the metropolitan area and as far north as Newcastle and south to Nowra, all compete to obtain a score of 53 points or more to gain entry to the State Championships, which will be held at Homebush State Sports Centre on November 15 and 16.
Sarah performed well on all 4 pieces of aparatus, obtaining a 4th place overall, with a score of 55.4 to automatically gain entry into the State Championships.
Sarah spends many hours a week training and has worked hard to achieve her goals. The first was to get to the State Championships and the second to do well in this tournament against her more elite peers.
We wish her well in the upcoming tournament and hope she can go three better than the lead in tournament she has just completed.
